So I would have Install.exe and Settings.reg in the same folder. Settings.reg is merged after the install is finished. Hope someone out there knows what i'm trying to say lol.

Hi, We use the GPO solution to push updates to clients but they are required to acccept (or postpone) the actual update installation. Now I want to edit my WSUS GPO to force both download and installation of updates on client computers. HOWEVER I don't want a forced reboot before the user actually clicks the Reboot now button. Eject dvd windows 7. I don't want to get ried by users having lost their unsaved doduments when they were out for lunch. I also hope it's ok to set the GPO up to download and install as soon as the user has logged on to the domain.
Here users come and go around the clock so setting a schedule will miss a lot of users. Thanks for tips on how to set up my GGPO according to the above comments regards Tor. Belarc advisor current profile software licenses windows 7 key.
The first observation I'd made is that if users do not want to lose their 'unsaved documents' whey they go to lunch, then they ought not to be leaving 'unsaved documents' open on their computers when they leave for lunch. The second thing I'd note is that Microsoft Office has had a very aggressive auto-save feature built into its products for several versions now, so the practicality, the possibility, the reality that a user would actually 'lose an unsaved documented' as a result of an update installation is zilch. Third, if you're that concerned about users losing work, then you shouldn't be installing updates during the workday! Fourth, on Vista and later systems, protections are built into the OS, and it WILL NOT reboot with applications open, unless the user actively consents to that action, or the restart command explicitly forces that event (which the WUAgent does not do). Having said all of that...
This scenario has been discussed hundreds of times over the lifetime of WSUS since early 2005, and a basic web seach should turn up dozens of those threads from numerous sources. If you do not want systems to restart, you must enable the policy setting No auto-restart with logged on users for scheduled automatic updates installations. You cannot control, via GPO, when a client download the update files. The download of update files occurs pursuant to a detection that identifies the update as approved and available for installation. You can control how often the client might initiate a download, by managing the detection interval. To control when a client can download content, you will need to manage when you configure the approvals for those updates.
